The USTR has announced a short list of new exclusions to the Section 301 tariffs for China origin goods. This list of eight items covers specific products which currently carry a 7.5 percent additional duty and are included on Round 4A of the tariffs. Some medical products, including dental floss, are covered by this action. However, hand sanitizer under 3808.94 is still nowhere to be found. A link to these exclusions are below.

The exclusions are retroactive to the  September 1, 2019 start date, and are scheduled to expire on September 1, 2020. Three of the exclusions were granted based on the 10 digit HTS code while the remainder are limited to the written description as given on the order. The provisional number assigned to the exclusions is 9903.88.47 and it will be active once Customs updates the tariff.

Please review the links below to see if any of these exclusions could be beneficial for products you import from China. Our CVI Exclusion Guide has been updated to reflect these updates: Go to CVI’s Exclusion Guide 2020
