February 8, 2016 – Effective February 1, 2016, Brazil Port Authorities and MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply) are requiring that shippers provide Wooden Packing Material details for all cargoes to be loaded ex/to Brazil.
Therefore, with immediate effect, Wooden Packing Material details must be provided for all cargoes to be loaded ex/to Brazil.
The Declaration must follow the below format:
- Wooden Packing: Processed Wood;
- Wooden Packing: Treated and Certified (the materials have been treated and/or fumigated and include a certificate);
- Wooden Packing: Not Treated and not Certified (the materials have not been treated nor fumigated and do not include a certificate);
- Wooden Packing: Not Applicable (when packing material is not wooden).
Please note that the shipper is the party responsible for providing this information to the carrier. Please be sure to include this information for any shipments destined for Brazil.
