Potential ILWU Strike at Los Angeles and Long Beach Ports

Client Alert Rachel Shames Craft CMS Tile Card

A potential strike by ILWU Local 26 watchmen could disrupt operations at six container terminals at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach beginning Sunday, November 1. Negotiations remain ongoing.

As reported by the Journal of Commerce, the Pacific Maritime Association said other ILWU workers “are not expected to cross any Local 26 picket line, which could halt vessel, yard and gate operations at the affected terminals.”

If a strike occurs, it could worsen existing congestion and delay cargo movement through the ports.

CV International is monitoring developments and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
