US withdrawal from Trans-Pacific Partnership in early 2017 in combination with efforts to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement is making agriculture exporters anxious. The top three countries for agriculture products, Mexico ($18.6 billion), Canada ($20.5 billion), and China ($19.6 billion), account for 42% of 2017 agriculture exports. Americans continue to desire high-value goods that aren’t produced in the United States which will continue to drive agriculture imports, exports, however, will continue to face unique challenges.
